Srivari Residence is a senior citizens home, managed by Srivari Charitable Trust situated in Singaperumal Koil which is about 30 km from Chennai airport on GST road, just before Mahindra World City.
The newly constructed home will accommodate 50 senior citizens in 25 well ventilated bath attached rooms of about 275 sq. ft. each. Each room is furnished with 2 cots, beds, pillows, bedsheets, chairs, built in cub boards, fan and lights.
The home comprises ground plus one floor with all the basic facilities needed for a safe living of senior citizens. It has good walking space around the building with garden. Rain water harvesting, sewage treatment plant and solar water heater are other main features of the home.
Strictly vegetarian food is prepared in the kitchen and served in the common dining room. Additionally, the home has tie up with a couple of hospitals located in Singaperumal Koil (500 meters from the home).Singaperumal Koil shopping area, bus stand, railway station and banks are all just about 500/750 meters from the home. Plenty of autos and call taxis are also available.
Further the home has a temple, mini gym, library ,Wi-Fi, common television room, a very big meditation hall, etc… Round the clock security has also been arranged and monitored by multiple CCTV cameras.
The food and overhead expenses would be shared among the residents, the cost of which is presently fixed at Rs 12,500 per person per month. The residents will be involved in running the home as far as possible by themselves to keep them occupied.
